This article reviews the book that accompanies the Exhbition book authored by Zahi Hawass, Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs (price $35.00). This is an interestingly forthright review, concluding that "It hardly matters that the reading is snooze-worthy, because most of the people who buy Tutankhamun will more likely than not spend hours pouring over its photographs. It's a coffeetable book. It's designed for visual, not mental, titillation". The reviewer, Emma Trelles, gives a detailed explanation of why she has come to this conclusion. However, she is also highly complimentary about the photography, done by Egypt veteran Kenneth Garrett, which she says "bridges Egypt's ancient past with its daily beauty, and reminds us that history is an ongoing affair".
